Melissa Marsh left WXII 12 in October 2007. She is now with Triad Time-Warner Cable, where she is an advertising Account Executive.

Melissa Marsh joined WXII 12 in October 2002. She came to WXII from the NBC affiliate in Raleigh, where she was a general assignment reporter.

During her first three years at WXII 12, she was the morning reporter, getting up at 2:30am five days a week! Now, she reports in the evenings for WXII 12 News at 5pm, 6pm, and 11pm. She anchored weekend evenings from April 2005 to April 2006.

Since she joined WXII 12, she has traveled to the coast to cover Hurricanes Isabel and Charley and to Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Daytona 500! She has also covered President Bush's five visits to North Carolina in the last four years.

While in Raleigh, Melissa covered many post 9/11 stories from North Carolina's military bases. She reported live from Fort Bragg and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in the first few days of the war in Afghanistan.
She followed families from Fort Bragg and Seymour Johnson as they experienced watching their loved ones travel to Afghanistan.

Melissa got her start in television in 1998 while interning for news magazine Dateline NBC in Manhattan.

Melissa enjoys ALL outdoor activities -- cycling, running, hiking, snorkeling -- and any time spent at the beach! She is a certified aerobics instructor and teaches Spinning, Body Pump, Body Step, Sweat and Kickboxing at Sportime and Pyramids Wellness Center in Greensboro. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys traveling, a good read, yoga, pilates, and shag dancing.

Melissa is active in the community and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Greensboro Children's Museum. She participates in dozens of cycling events every year, one of her favorites being the Tour to Tanglewood. Every year, she heads up a team of folks in the Triad to ride in the Tour to Tanglewood with her (last year's ride was 95 miles and her teamed raise $15,000!). She also completed her first Sprint Distance Triathlon in 2003, and looks forward to many more in the future.

On March 30, 2005, Melissa was recognized as an "Outstanding Young Leader" by the Winston-Salem Jaycees.

She is a summa cum laude graduate of Campbell University with a B.A. degree in Communications and a minor in Spanish. She grew up in Concord and resides in Greensboro with her husband Jim.
